Steven & Lauren Davis

Lauren Davis, DVM, DVetHom, CVA, CVCP, earned her veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 1997 (Magna Cum Laude). While still a student, she became interested in holistic care when her own cat recovered with the help of homeopathy from a chronic illness conventional medicine couldn't alleviate. After graduation, she pursued professional training and earned certifications in veterinary homeopathy, veterinary acupuncture, veterinary orthopedic manipulation, and reiki for both humans and animals.

She met Steven somewhat late in life, but with a mutual lifelong love of the outdoors and the Teton area in particular, they settled on Tetonia ID as their new home. Having spent most of her career surrounded by the walls of an office, Dr. Davis decided to start her mobile practice - not only to enjoy driving through the countryside, but also to give her patients something they couldn't get in the office: the benefits of their own familiar space.

When the Davises aren't busy with their day jobs, they can be found exploring and photographing the incredible beauty of the Western United States. They run a side business, Davis Photo Arts, which feeds their creative passions with both photography and videography.

They also enjoy geeking out on all the equipement - Nikon cameras, drones, Go-Pros - as well as all the programs for editing images and videos. It's been a lot of fun!

Dr. Davis brings this level of enthusiasm to every interaction with clients and patients! She also enjoys detective work, which is what much of veterinary medicine is, and puts those skills to bear helping clients answer questions and formulate plans that balance practicality with efficacy. If she doesn't know the answer, she'll help you find someone who does! Client education is a priority; to that end Dr. Davis has also written an online book, Tending The Wind (written under her prior surname Chattigre), which goes into much more depth on alternative modalities than can be presented here. Constantly researching and open to new ideas, she brings a fresh perspective to age-old problems. This is balanced by the enduring understanding that sometimes it's the old ways that work best!

The Davises explore the wilds in their blue Chevy Silverado, complete with steaks for dinner under the stars and breakfast coffee in the brisk morning air...so if you see them around feel free to wave hello! They travel far and wide, from the crags of Utah to the rivers of Montana, and of course all around Idaho and Wyoming.

They can potentially coordinate one of their adventures with a veterinary housecall in areas well outside the Teton region!

So give Teton Holistic Veterinary Care a call and we'll create a plan for your fuzzy friend! Dr. Davis has treated dogs and cats for most of her career, along with several birds and ferrets, but has added horses to the mix as well since opening her mobile practice. Every new species brings a new and wonderful challenge. Every new client brings a chance to meet the great people of Idaho and Wyoming!
